Q: I work as a college admission counselor, and travel to community colleges twice a week. I would like to get a GPS navigation system, as I've discovered that I lack an inner compass and frequently get lost (my atlas has been helpful, but it is dangerous to consult it while driving). I would think that 90% or more of my usuage of this product would be business related, but I don't know if I would be able to write this off since I'm not self-employed. Any thoughts?
A: if you're not self employed - doubtful you can expense it - just chalk it up to it helping you be more efficient in your job
I just ordered a cobra gps navigation system and i was just woundering if any one has used one of these. I have been looking for a long time and I got a good deal on this one, and I am just woundering if I got got to good of a deal. Any help will be very thankful
Luckily, GPS systems have never placed me in a life-or-death situation. They have, however, provided me with miserable and misleading directions from time to time. So what's a driver to do? The best advice, of course, is to carry a backup (yes, a printed) map, but that's not always practical, particularly if you're on a long road trip with multiple destinations.
When shopping for a GPS device, look for one that provides frequent map updates. While that may save you from taking the wrong Interstate exit, or driving the wrong way down a one-way road, it might not prevent the kind of wilderness snafus that befell the Rhoads in Oregon.
Common sense is always your best guide. If your GPS is guiding you down a lonely road in the mountains, it may be time to revise your route.
We asked leading GPS device vendors Garmin, Magellan, and TomTom to comment for this article, but they didn't respond by post time.
I have the Mio C230 GPS navigation system for my car. How do I update it? I bought it last winter (2007). It came with a software disc, but it only contains information about the device and to restore it.
I have Camry , Looking for a gps system which is reliable and very accurate.
If you have any good suggestions I appreciate your answer.
Thanks.
