Sony Flat Screen Tv
Q: I just bought this tv and I didn't buy the hdmi cable. However, should I buy the cable? I have a 720 pixels and I dont have hdtv digtail cable, I have the analog type. What would this hdmi cable do to my tv?
A: www.HDGURU.com says that spending even one penny on HDMI is too much. Regular component (the colored tips at the end of the cable) are just fine.

Amazon was hands down, THE VERY BEST deal I found anywhere. Not only was the TV $300-$400 cheaper than it was anywhere else at a local retailer like Best Buy or Circuit City, but here’s the best part…. I paid NO TAX (I live in Texas, amazon is based in WA,its a beautiful thing) and got free shipping. So we’re talking approximately $500-$600 savings by using amazon once you figure in tax and shipping on top of that list price savings.
Delivery was another pleasant surprise. My estimated delivery date was about a week and a half out, however I got a call three days after my order from Ceva saying that my tv was already in town and could they bring it tomorrow…um, yes please! Amazon contracts Ceva, a private shipping company that specializes in delivery of flat screen tv’s. They showed up in a very clean small speciality van, which was great since it meant my tv wasn’t bouncing around some big UPS or Fed Ex truck and being tossed around. The guys took the TV upstairs to my second floor apartment, took it out of the box, plugged it in and showed me the remote basics. They were very professional. I even tested my new upconvert dvd player with a movie I had waiting just to make sure it all worked. After all of that, then I signed off and they were on their way/ Try getting service like that from ANYWHERE else. Seriously, A + service all the way, highly recommended!
...At CES, you could watch prototype 3-D TV screens at the Sony, Samsung, Toshiba, LG and Panasonic booths.
The screens were big, the images were high-def, the sound systems were state of the art, and the video samples were vivid and punchy. They made 3-D TV seem fantastic. You almost couldn't wait to buy one when they come out this summer.
But once the retractable leash pulled your CES demo glasses back onto their pedestal for the next customer, you'd be forgiven for having a few doubts.
First of all, those glasses. E-w-w-w. Do we really want to have to put on glasses every time we sit down for some TV?
You'll get one or two pairs of glasses with each set. Additional glasses will cost $75 or more. So if you invite 12 buddies over for a Super Bowl party to inaugurate your expensive new 3-D set, you'll have to lay out $750 so everyone can watch the game. Better hope nobody fails to show.
(And no, you can't ask your friends to bring their own glasses. The TV manufacturers haven't agreed on a standard, so one company's glasses may not work with another company's TV. Argh!)
We have Time Warner Cable. The remote works for the Sony Flat screen and the cable, and the dvd player. The volume works when I watch a dvd but not for the tv or the cable. This happened all of a sudden, not sure if one of the kids were playing with the remote or what. Anyone have any ideas? I...
