Q: How do i hook up my laptop computer to my new tv, i have a compaq presario v5000 and a Regza Toshiba HD television it looks like a usb cord plugs into the back of the tv anybody know what kind of hookups i would use for this?
A: Sounds like you're looking at an HDMI port. They're very similar in size and shape to a USB port.
If your laptop has an s-video port, and your TV does, too, that's probably your only way to connect the two.

Perhaps you should do some homework, and take a course on basic PC use. This way, when it happens again, because it will, you will be armed with the tools that you need to deal with the problem yourself.
A good starting point would be the “For Dummies” line of books. Don’t be turned off by the title, they have many informative books on all sorts of topics.
Unfortunately, without someone actually seeing your PC, they will not be able to help you.
You are going to need patience, and the willingness to learn about such things, if you want to have a good experience with them.
It’s not like on TV where things just magically work. They are trying to sell you something, and have everything configured so that it looks this way. In the REAL world, those of us who have acquired our knowledge of computers have read many boring manuals, and we still have problems.
And though manuals are better written, they are very hard to write so that ANYONE can understand them. Just ask my friend, the documentation specialist, Euripides Upmann.
You need to read some books and manuals, and maybe even take a course. Otherwise your laptop will be a living hell for you.
That sounds like any computer from the past ten or so years. Any way was this a used lap top? Sounds like a messed up drive maybe. When you go to my computer what drives does it list? When I put my thumb drive in any computer it open in the task thing at the bottom by the clock and all I have to do is hit explore and pow it opens. However with that any computer I plug into must have the abilty to open the files. If the software or drivers don’t exist it will not work.

The iPad is, as predicted, essentially a giant iPod Touch: aluminum-backed, half-inch thin, with a 10-inch screen surrounded by a shiny black border. It will be available in models ranging from $499 (16 gigs of memory, Wi-Fi) to $830 (64 gigs of memory, Wi-Fi and 3G cellular).
The cellular signal will be provided by AT&T for $15 a month (250 megabytes of data transferred -- think e-mail only) or $30 a month, unlimited. Amazingly, those AT&T deals involve no contract. You can cancel whenever you like. And since this thing isn't a phone, you don't have to worry about dropped calls; you're paying exclusively for Internet service.
