Q: Oky, so i am about to sell my mp3 player and get a ipod instead. But i can't decide whether to buy the ipod nano 2nd generation or the ipod nano 3rd generation. i've heard that the 3rd generation is wide and feels awkward in the hand. But then again i've heard the price of the ipod nano 2nd is more expensive than the 3rd generation. Which one should i get? I have about 1300 songs...
A: I just bought a 3rd gen nano to replace my older nano and greatly prefer the new one over the old. The 3rd generation nano is even smaller than it looks in the ads. I would try going to stores and trying out each one if you are worried it will feel too awkward. The new nano has a larger, brighter, and sharper screen. The new cover flow feature is also a plus. So I would recommend that you get the 3rd generation, but in the end its all up to what you like the most.
The screen on my ipod video broke, and I have an ipod nano with no funcionality but the screen does work. So I want to know if i can connect the ipod nano screen to the 30 gig ipod.
Does anyone know if this is possible before I disasemble my video?
Apple has just revealed its 6th generation iPod nano, which has been outfitted with just about the boldest redesign the portable media player has experienced yet. Gone is the clickwheel, to be replaced with a touchscreen interface and a shuffle-esque square form factor. It's now 46 percent smaller and 42 percent lighter. Hard volume buttons on the side and a clip on the back provide the minimal hardware accouterments to that multitouch touchscreen, while the inside provides enough juice for 24 hours of audio playback. Seven total color variants will be up for grabs, including a Product RED option, with prices set at $149 for 8GB of storage or $179 for 16GB and pre-orders being taken today. SAN FRANCISCO-September 1, 2010-Apple® today unveiled a completely redesigned iPod nano® featuring Apple's Multi-Touch™ interface that lets users navigate their music collection by simply tapping or swiping a finger on the display. Nearly half the size and weight of the previous generation, the new iPod nano features a polished aluminum and glass enclosure with a built-in clip, making it instantly wearable. The new iPod nano features Genius Mixes, the ability to create and edit playlists, a built-in FM radio with live pause and up to 24 hours of music playback on a single battery charge.* The new iPod nano with Apple's Multi-Touch interface allows users to access their songs, artists, albums and playlists with a tap or swipe of their finger on the display. Holding down a finger returns the user to the Home screen, and users can easily use two fingers to rotate the screen if it is clipped onto their clothing upside down. Users can also customize their Home screen by simply dragging icons from other screens onto the Home screen. iPod nano also features Shake® to Shuffle™, giving music lovers the ability to shake their iPod nano to shuffle to a new song in their music library. With its built-in FM radio, iPod nano lets you listen to your favorite radio stations,...
The lawsuit, which was originally filed in 2006, argued that because iPods don’t come with a decibel meter that lets users know how much noise the device is producing, consumers don’t understand the potential damage they could be causing themselves by listening to loud music for long periods of time. It also claimed that the earbuds that come with the iPod increase the risk that damage could occur because they are designed to be placed inside the ear.
In dismissing an appeal in the case Wednesday, a three-judge panel from the Ninth Circuit Court of Appeals called the claims “obvious” and said that a reasonable person could easily avoid hearing loss by turning the volume down. The judges also said that the plaintiffs in the case—a Louisiana man and a California man—lacked the legal standing to bring the case because neither one had actually suffered hearing loss.
The court also pointed out that iPods come with a warning that listening to loud music through headphones can result in hearing loss. During arguments, Apple’s lawyer said the intended use of the iPod was to listen to music–not necessarily loudly–and that making the company liable for people who turn the volume all the way up is akin to punishing a car maker whose vehicle can travel above the speed limit or a food company whose product is so delicious that people don’t want to stop eating it.
